Evangelist Marion Thompson

Evangelist Marion Thompson is a retired teacher with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from Barber-Scotia College, a historically black college in Concord, North Carolina.  Evangelist Thompson traveled extensively throughout the United States and Japan as part of a military family.  During that time, she experienced serving and fellowshipping in a local church at each duty station. At one such duty station in Okinawa, Evangelist Thompson co-pastored a local church for a year starting from the ground up in securing finances, starting a children’s ministry, furnishing the church building, and believing God for people to come.  In His faithfulness, upon leaving Japan, God had blessed the church with computers, a beautified building, and ample church funds to sustain serving the community.  During that time, she saw people receive salvation, grow, and mature in the Lord.

As a resident of Bluffton, South Carolina, Evangelist Thompson is married and has four children: two girls and two boys.  In joining the family at Campbell Chapel AME Church, Evangelist Thompson has found being part of the local AME community has allowed her to do the following: (1) perfecting (equipping) of the saints; (2) working for the work of the ministry; and (3) edifying of the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:12).  She particularly enjoys partnering with the Bluffton Community Soup Kitchen and its mission to prepare, serve, and deliver meals for seniors, sick/shut-in, homeless, and less financially advanced members of our community.
