Nestled in the heart of Bluffton’s Historic District, Historic Campbell Chapel AME Church has stood as a beacon of faith, resilience, and heritage for generations. Since its founding in 1873, this sacred place has been a cornerstone of the community, and today, we are thrilled to share the ATTACHED VIDEO relating the remarkable progress in its ongoing restoration.
What began in 2016 as a dream within the congregation of Campbell Chapel AME Church has transformed into a powerful testament to dedication and perseverance. The journey to restore this historic sanctuary gained momentum after its entry into the National Register of Historic Places, marking an important milestone that ignited further support and determination.
As of May 2025, the restoration effort is shining brighter than ever, thanks to the unwavering commitment of the Town of Bluffton, local groups, organizations, and passionate individuals who recognize the importance of preserving our shared history. With each brick laid and each beam reinf
orced, Campbell Chapel continues to reclaim its grandeur while honoring the legacy that has made it so revered in the community.
This project is more than just a restoration—it is a celebration of heritage, a commitment to preservation, and a promise for the future. The progress we’ve made reflects the heart and spirit of Bluffton, and we look forward to the day when Historic Campbell Chapel stands in its fully restored glory, ready to inspire and uplift generations to come.
